If your shed is 200 square feet or smaller and only one story, the Minnesota Residential Code doesn’t require a state building permit. However, many cities and townships still require a zoning permit to make sure your shed meets local rules for placement, setbacks, and property coverage. All sheds from Northwood Outdoor have pressure-treated skids, so all it needs is a level surface.
A crushed rock or stone pad is preferred, as it helps in the leveling process and allows water to drain away easily. A concrete pad also works well for longevity, but both must be accessible for delivery.

The lifespan of a shed will fluctuate depending on the materials it’s made of. As long as they are properly maintained, wood sheds or garages can last over 20 years. In comparison, metal sheds may last even longer due to the metal roof and siding.

Sheds are loaded onto the back of a delivery truck or on a trailer. The truck or trailers can be backed up to the prepared site in your yard. Or moved into place using what’s called a shed mule. Allowing us to place your shed, garage, or cabin just about anywhere.

We accept cash, check, or any major credit card. We ask for a 50% deposit when the building is ordered, and then the rest of the balance when the shed has been delivered.

If a building is in stock at one of our locations, delivery is usually between 1 and 2 weeks.
If you are ordering a custom building, then delivery times can be up to 4 to 6 weeks, depending on the current number of in-process orders. Make sure to give us a call for the most up-to-date times
